About Sarah
Sarah O’Rourke is an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and previously worked a birth and postpartum doula. With over a decade of experience in lactation support, Sarah is dedicated to empowering families through their infant feeding journey. Her own experience as a new parent navigating breastfeeding challenges sparked a deep passion for compassionate, evidence-based care. She understands firsthand how overwhelming those early days can feel, and she strives to be a steady, reassuring presence for families helping them feel heard, informed, and confident in their feeding choices.
Sarah’s expertise spans both outpatient and community-based settings, including work within WIC programs, private practice, and telehealth. She has guided families through every stage of the feeding process, offering prenatal education, postpartum follow-ups, and tailored solutions for ongoing challenges.
Beyond general lactation support, Sarah has advanced training in tethered oral tissues (oral restrictions) and postpartum emotional support. She understands how the birth experience can shape feeding outcomes and meets families with empathy, trauma-informed care, and holistic guidance.
What truly sets Sarah apart is her unwavering commitment to creating a safe and judgment-free space for parents. She believes there is no "one right way" to feed a baby only what works best for each family. Whether navigating low milk supply, latch difficulties, or simply seeking reassurance, she walks alongside parents with knowledge, encouragement, and deep respect for their individual journeys.
Outside of her professional work, Sarah enjoys practicing yoga, traveling whenever possible, and spending time with her partner, two children, and beloved fur baby. She brings the same warmth and balance to her work as she does to her personal life making families feel seen, supported, and empowered in one of the most transformative seasons of parenthood.
